Osotsi Ousted in ODM, Re-emerges in Linda Mwananchi Leadership

Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has declared himself the Deputy Party Leader of the Linda Mwananchi movement, just days after losing his previous position within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). The announcement signals a swift political shift as the senator aligns himself with the emerging political outfit.

Speaking today during Linda Mwananchi Rally at Tononoka Grounds in Mombasa he affirmed his stance saying that he will not fight for the earlier position but he is focused to the current Linda Mwananchi Team; an ODM faction that is being led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

Osotsi had until recently served as ODM Deputy Party Leader but was dropped during a Special Delegates Conference held in Nairobi. During the meeting, delegates failed to back his position after he did not secure a proposer and seconder, effectively ending his tenure in the party’s top leadership.

His latest declaration is seen as part of a broader realignment within the opposition, as leaders reposition themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election. Osotsi’s move to Linda Mwananchi is expected to strengthen the movement’s leadership structure as it continues to mobilize support across the country.
