CA Gets Tribunal Nod to Revoke Standard Group Licences Over Sh48.9M Arrears

The Communications Authority of Kenya has received tribunal approval to proceed with the revocation of Standard Group’s broadcasting licences over Sh48.9 million in unpaid frequency spectrum fees.

The decision puts Standard Group’s KTN News, KTN Home, and Radio Maisha operations at potential risk.

Standard Group argued that the fees were excessive, but the tribunal found that the CA had given adequate notice and followed due process.

Standard Group CEO Orlando Lyomu assured stakeholders that the company is exploring all available legal remedies and engaging with the regulator to resolve the matter before any operational disruption occurs.
